This captivating scene captures the grandeur of Queen Wilhelmina's arrival at Frederiksplein in Amsterdam on September 5, 1898. Seated in a cream-colored carriage known as the 'crème calèche', the queen, alongside Emma, is drawn by eight majestic horses. An escort of riders precedes and follows their carriage, adding to the spectacle. To the right, a covered stand is filled with invited guests, while the procession moves into Utrechtsestraat. The backdrop features the Palace for Popular Diligence, adding an air of majesty to this historic event.
